👋 I’m Lukiih (pronounced “lucky” 🍀), the creator behind Lists by Lukiih.

I share practical travel content and rank experiences around the world using a coherent ranking system.

Why Lists by Lukiih?

I launched Lists by Lukiih in late 2022 to create travel content with less fluff because I enjoy sharing my adventures in a practical way.

After traveling to more than a dozen destinations, I faced a problem when planning my trips: I couldn’t easily tell which “top things to do” were truly remarkable experiences.

I wanted to more honestly share experiences I genuinely found worthwhile. So, in 2024, I spent several months creating a consistent rating system that outputs a clear and ranked recommendation list by destination.

As of May 2024, I have rated 200 experiences across 16 destinations and plan to continue sharing my reviews as I travel more.

I self-fund my trips and don’t receive sponsorship, so my reviews always reflect my honest opinions.

What To Expect

The travel guides and trip planners on Lists by Lukiih are created for those who appreciate practical information presented in a well-structured format.

My website is based on my firsthand trip experiences, so my guides are especially great for those with similar travel styles.

🏃🏻‍♀️ Active Adventurers

Most of my recommendations on great things to do are active and adventurous. I tend to recommend activities like:

• 🥾 Hiking – Some of my most epic hikes were Mt. Fuji in Japan, the Inca Trail in Peru, and Landmannalaugar in Iceland. But I wouldn’t dismiss smaller hikes like Cinque Terre in Italy or Montserrat near Barcelona.
• 🚲 Biking – My favorite cycling adventure spanned six islands in Japan, but the most underrated one was in Cambodia.
• 🪨 Rock climbing – I’ve rock climbed in several destinations and was mesmerized by the beautiful routes near Halong Bay, Vietnam.
• 🔦 Spelunking – While cave exploration is not a regular activity, the famous ATM Cave in Belize is worth experiencing.
• 🏜️ Sandboarding – One of the best places to sandboard worldwide is Huacachina, Peru.
• 🐘 Wildlife appreciation – I visited an elephant sanctuary in Thailand, which was incredible. I’ll be going on my first African safari in 2024!

🗓️ Efficient Itineraries

I believe in making the most out of my trips. Many of my trip itineraries are efficient, packed with activities, and can be easily adjusted for more downtime.

My travel style leans towards experience and adventure over rest and relaxation.

💰 Mid-Range Budget Travelers

My travel recommendations average $100 to $200 daily, as shown in my trip’s cost breakdowns.

While I provide budgeting advice based on firsthand experience and thorough research, I don’t focus on budget travel.

My definition of a mid-range budget traveler is someone who doesn’t stay at hostels or luxury hotels, generally eats at $ to $$ restaurants (and the occasional $$$ restaurant), and tends to pay for tours and more convenient transportation.

✌🏻 Traveling With Friends

I’m a big fan of shared travel. I travel with friends and occasionally by myself, so my recommendations, tips, and budget reflect that type of setup.

I don’t travel with kids or a big family, so I can’t realistically write about those experiences.

🇺🇸 American Perspective & English-Speaking

As an Asian-American from the United States, my travel lists are created with an American lens.

My insights around money, visas, cultural norms, etc., are most helpful for English speakers trying to navigate destinations from an American perspective.
